.Hi! Very interesting! pablx

.Not enough improvments (3GSM for Europe, Wifi, OS6) and less memory... No doubt the next Treo will be a real evolution
.It lacks WiFi
.Reasons 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 are already fine and equally true on the cheaper 600 THAT IS ONE HALF OF these "10 Reasons to upgrade" The other five are either based on Andrew's love for fuctionality most of us do NOT need or even want (do YOU?) or typically overheated testosterone like..... "I like showing I have the best..." I don't need or like an overly complicated PDA/cell, anymore than I want to pay for or likely USE all the tools in a 100 blade Swiss Army knife. Knowing what is enough..... can save a lot of $ and pain. Take your microwave.... or VCR... they have thousands of function, if you can only figure out how to use them, and in most case who needs them? Most people are content to defrost, reheat, pop corn, or watch a rental movie or tape something ON THE AIR now. Do I want to watch a movie on this tiny screen? do I want to hear tinny music on it? Does someone like me who gets hundreds of email a day want to handle them on this tiny keyboard without out even a spam filter to cull them down to size? Not hardly. I'm waiting for the next big jump. And love my Treo 600.... Tom@digitalfuture.org
.From my wife... "Didn't you just get that phone?!"
.MEMORY LIMITATION: Specifically the 512-byte record blocks. This is really the only problem, but it is significant for many reasons: - Programs stored in the treo's memory take up 1/3 more space. - Data stored in the Treo's memory can take up to 10 times more space. if you use database programs like MobileDB. Your 2MB database might now consume ALL of the free memory (mine did!) And having to search the database on an SD card eliminates the speed improvements gained by the new processor. - The included programs (Camera/Camcorder/Quick Tour/Get BC/RealPlayer/Versa Mail) take up quite a bit of space--and ought to give the user the option of storing them on an SD card or removing them altogether from the memory, so that the user could use the space they're taking up. Considering these limitations, wouldn't it have been better just to use a coin-cell to preserve the memory while changing the battery? Or at a minimum, include more memory (i.e., 64MB internal?) An external card, no matter how big, can't fix the internal memory limitation. It's just too slow and too difficult to run applications from.
.i bought my T600 for RM2800. after a few months of using, palmone malaysia decided to have a price cut to RM2000 for a brand new unit. so, basically, there is no resale value for my T600. besides, i am disappointed with the T650 memory size. i'll wait for T700, T750 whatever. in the mean time, i'll just finish up whatever value left on my T600. TY
.I no longer have the need or desire to have the latest and greatest. at this point, i simply do not need to pay up for a high res screen, incrementally faster processor or blue...tooth. i'm keeping my treo 600!
.I played with a demo unit at the Sprint store and while it is indeed a very nice device, it is not enough of an improvement to justify the upgrade cost from the Treo 600. My decision has much to do with the simple fact of limited bandwidth. Also the crippled Bluetooth and the memory issue. I think I'll sit this one out and wait for Sprint to upgrade their network to provide more bandwidth. Or maybe I'll jump ship back to Verizon if they upgrade their network in my area before Sprint manages to. Too bad the Treo 650 didn't include WiFi, but it didn't. Probably a lot of my issues have more to do with Sprint but that is the reality in a carrier-centric device. I think pa1mOne really needs to hammer out some of these issues with the carriers before they roll out the next gen devices!

.It simply works, as is.
.PalmOne did not take the time to get it right. Upgrading to a machine with less available memory, for more koney, is not an upgrade. If they fix this problem, then it is workwhile for a better screen, a faster processor and bluetooth. But PalmOne really has to wake up. A year after the release of the TReo 600, this is not much of an upgrade. It's a little bump.
.Mostly incremental improvements
.they need to fix the memory problem with the 650. if your current 600 is fairly full, then the 650 will absolutely not handle all your data. that's a pretty big minus in my book
.I REALLY like shiny things.
.The 600 does everything I need to do as well as the 650. Getting to use a bluetooth headset is not worth $600 to me.
.Need to increase the base memory.
.The "less" memory. (A case where 32mb does not equal 32mb.)
