.I predict that Mandarin Chinese may well replace English as the world language as China gains more and more influence in the world. Knowledge of this language will be essential for business in the future.

.not a named language, but a natural progression based on the most commonly accepted words, which present themselves obviously when attempts to communicate with other tribes are made. when attachment to rigidly prescribed grammar and vocabulary is relaxed, individual words can intermingle freely and assert prevalence
.I voted for English from a simplicity sake also taking into account myself and family/friends that speak multiple languages, feedback I have received gives English an edge to learn and understand as a second language. I am also considering the global business world, some important business standards such as aviation and mathematics are conducted solely in English. Full disclosure:I am a natural born American citizen to an Italian family. I learned English as a first language but also studied Italian, French and Spanish I also speak(very very little) conversational Japanese, Mandarin and German but really only stuff like how are you, thanks, excuse me, goodbye and the like.
.Sanskrit has one of the richest word inventories, it is the language of one of the greatest civilization and the sacred language of more than a billion people (Hindus, Jainists and Buddhists). Moreover, it is the classical language of India, the future world's largest economy. It is not spoken in everyday communication, so its use as a global language will not be
.Arabic, it is both nostalgic and futuristic.
.English is by far the most international language. understood to some extent by an incredible proportion of the world's population. it is not the largest language measured by native speakers, but when counting people having english as a 2nd language, that number is a supreme champion on the scale of 2nd language scales. mandarin is mostly limited within China, and spanish within latin america. these are big languages, but not very international-- and interregional. it is no doubt that a common language would have to be english, if a natural langauge is to be picked. and imagine the enormous cost of having the world learn esperanto! when people say its unfair, and that the english culture is set above other culture, i must disagree. english today is neither british nor american. most english is spoken outside those countries (even if we count no. of native speakers outside USA/UK). English is the language that should be used for international communication. it is the future. it does not have to eradicate other languages, it can be a part of a global bilingualism.
.Well I think every body should learn the language not just like one country. I think it would be neat to have one big language for everyone to learn.
.No one of existing language is perfectly suitable for global language. Every has his shortcomings for the role of global language.
.I believe that it should be a newly constructed language, because that way every nation on the planet will have to learn it, and not just some. It makes it fairer I think.
.I chose Glosa because it is highly logical and unambiguous, as well as being easy to learn.
.German, because its the language with the best structure among those in the list and language as this should be learned.
.The main reason for my decision is pragmatic: ENGLISH has already begun the process of becoming a global language!
.Esperanto is just easy.
.1 i voted volapuk because it worked and was used: thus showing the choice is realistic 2 it is not a romance clone pretending to be a non european language: like esperanto 3 it is not dominated by a massive leftist humanist secularist european membership pretending political neutrality 4 it does not look or sound like any other major world language : thus actualy truly neutral 5 it sounds beutifull (subjective oppinion)?
.My choice for a world government language is Globa which was developed by William Starin for use in the Leadic Government. By tests Globa is 1/5 to 1/10 as difficult to learn as English. Also, Globa has been designed to handle the thought patterns or lingistic patterns used by almost every language. It is culturally neutral.
.English - because it`s relatively easy to learn basic English quickly - much quicker than basic French, Chinese or German - I can speak 7 languages and consider English the easiest one to learn. Also it`s widespread and basically everyone in the world is learning English.
.Interlingua (IALA)
.ENGLISH, THE MOST WIDELY USED AS A FIRST AND SECOND LANGUAGE, THE MAIN LANGUAGE OF TECHNOLOGY. MY VOTE, DESPITE ITS MANY FLAWS
.Mandarin is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world. There would be less people to teach and using combined symbols instead of letters is much more appealing to the eye.
.English ftw/
.Esperanto. (The blue letters are extremely difficult to read, by the way.)
.I vote for ATLANGO the newly constructed language. In my opinion most euphonious and
.many, but later
.Like English, French is spoken on all the major continents. There is the possibility to expose much of the world to the French language. The grammar is straightforward and would be easy to pick up for those millions of people who already speak English or Spanish. A number of stable and powerful countries use French as an official language already (Switzerland, France, Belgium, Canada, Luxembourg) which is excellent for consistency. However, it is unfortunate that the many African countries that use French are also considered economically disadvantaged and lacking in stability. It would be fantastic to utilize those French speakers more in the economically advantaged countries as well.
.I believe that Euroclones are overdone and overrated. A simplified form of Proto-Indo-European or another Proto should be used to create a more level playing ground.
.Esperanto
.Spanish is easy to learn and could easily be my second language. It obeys rules and has fewer exceptions that other languages.
