| Did you learn anything about the LGBT community? please state yes or no and please expand on your answer |
| |
| | 1. Yes - i was amazed at the diversity in the community |
| | 2. I learned about the experience of one of the very first trans people to undergo surgery - a moving but chastening story: April Ashley has never been able to get a job in the UK. |
| | 3. Yes. I was not previously aware of how active the LGBT community was in Southwark. |
| | 4. No, nothing new, but then I've been around for a long time. I would like to have made it to a few more of the events, but had clashing commitments. But though I missed Stephen Bourne, for example, I saw him at a South London Gays event in Clapham, and my partner went to the 17/2 event. |
| | 5. That the community is starting to become a real community |
| |
| Did you learn anything about yourself? please state yes or no and please expand on your answer
|
| |
| | 1. Yes - i need to organise my time a bit more closer to the events in order to attend more events |
| | 2. That I have a lot to learn. |
| | 3. No |
| | 4. No, just reinforced things I already knew. |
| | 5. That it is great to be proud of our achievements |
| |
| Please make any suggestions for event in 2010 |
| |
| | 1. a club based social event - making it inclusive of all ages etc, |
| | 2. more events please |
| | 3. It would be good if the Southwark LGBT community had a stand or were represented in some way at the Bermondsey Street Festival in September. |
| | 4. Keep the mix of different types of events and different venues to appeal to a wide range of people and ages. LGBT people of different age groups and experiences can learn from each other and feel a sense of solidarity in our shared history. I tend to like literary and artistic events. Anything that digs up neglected or forgotten aspects of our history would be of interest as well. |
| | 5. Would love to see the exhibition taking place again in 2010 |
